Ell Sol is Joan Mena, a Catalan multitask and performer based in The Netherlands. For the last decade, he has been traveling and performing his Turbo Folk around the DIY world with his groundbreaking performances pushing the boundaries of contemporary music with songs sung primarily in his native Catalan. He published 3 works as Ell Sol and lately he is working with a new string quartet to bring the pieces to a 4D level. A rollercoaster of Catalan chanson, a combo the get back to the roots and experimentation.
